Rural communities turn to social enterprise to create jobs and keep residents from leaving

ABC Goulburn Murray By Erin Somerville A small rural town in north-east Victoria is turning to social enterprises to create new jobs and prevent locals from having to leave in search of employment opportunities.It has so far created more than a dozen jobs, and shows no sign of slowing down.The Upper Murray Community Bakery launched in Corryong in 2015, and so far the program has helped many locals land full-time employment, while some have even returned to their hometown from major cities and overseas to work there.The social enterprise opportunities are now expanding, with a mechanical repair shop being opened...

Kuwait Petroleum hires NBK Capital to advise on $2bn financing

Kuwait Petroleum Corp has hired NBK Capital to advise it on a financing of around $2bn that is likely to come from Kuwaiti banks, two sources familiar with the matter said.One of the sources said negotiations for the financing were in their early stages.KPC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. New York City power outage plunges Times Square into darkness with subway, businesses and lifts hit
