DUBAI: When it comes to man versus machine, many industries, including medical science, are at a critical juncture. Designing future

It can be a difficult task to articulate the power of fashion because it has the capacity to transcend borders and represent people. Presenting a new range of garments, for a designer, can be a mode of storytelling wherein he/she wants to tell something to the world. When the students of the Department of Fashion Designing at St. Teresa’s College got a chance to exhibit their ideas of fashion, it was a dream-come-true moment for them. They were entrusted with the duty of not only designing the garment, but also deciding the entire look of a model that included selecting...

Walk a mile in their shoes

Two bright-eyed B-school dormmates turned business partners in their perpetual pursuit of affordable comfort. Well, that pretty much sums up the tale behind Rapawalk, the brain-child of two Bengaluru-based entrepreneurs, Aravind Maddireddy and Kashif Mohammad. The two 29-year-olds ventured into the shoe-making business with a rather simple intent: To conjure up budget-friendly shoes while exploring a rich heritage of artisanal craftsmanship and a passion for personalised footwear, realised with state-of-the-art 3D modelling technology. It hasn’t been a cakewalk for entrepreneurs Aravind Maddireddy and Kashif Mohammad to reach this far. The duo behind a personalised footwear label, tell Bengaluru Chronicle their...

Especially because, today, the 24-year-old Telugu youngster is part of the maiden Indian cricket team — comprising physically challenged players — and is set to play the T20 World Series in August in England. Finding cricketFor someone who’d started taking the sport seriously only in 2014, this is indeed quite an achievement. “When my name was announced,...
