Army Chiefs of Staff of GCC, Egypt, Jordan and US meet in Kuwait

KUWAIT, 12th September, 2018 (WAM) -- Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, attended the meeting of the chiefs of staff of the GCC countries, Egypt, Jordan and the United States, held in Kuwait on Wednesday. Lt. General Mohammad Khalid Al-Khudher, Chief of General Staff of Kuwait , welcomed his counterparts in a speech given at the opening of the meeting. American College of Surgeons accredits MBRU

DUBAI, 10th July, 2019 (WAM) -- The American College of Surgeons, ACS, the largest organisation of surgeons in the world, has accredited the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, MBRU, as a Comprehensive Education Institute, making it the first educational institute in the UAE to receive such an accreditation, and only second in the region after Kind Saud University in Saudi Arabia. ‘Digital Tax Stamp’ on water pipe tobacco and electrically heated cigarettes as of November 1

ABU DHABI, 10th July, 2019 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Federal Tax Authority, FTA, has issued a Decision whereby the "Marking Tobacco and Tobacco Products Scheme" will be implemented on water pipe tobacco and electrically heated cigarettes as of 1st November, 2019. Gyms in UAE warned against selling muscle building hormones

Gyms and health clubs in Abu Dhabi have been warned to adhere to safety and health standards and refrain from selling illegal muscle building hormones such as anabolic steroids. Government official threatens to kill ex-wife in Dubai

A 26-year-old government official was referred to the Dubai criminal court for allegedly threatening to kill his ex-wife and damaging the furniture in her house.   During police investigation, the woman revealed that the defendant used to live with her in her apartment in Mirdif area. A 10-year-old girl in Dubai has been declared as the UAE's most avid reader, beating more than 450,000 participants of the Arab Reading Challenge (ARC).
