Dubai among world's top 15 financial centres

Backed by its strong infrastructure, banking and financial services, Dubai has retained its top ranking in the region in the list of the world's top financial centres and improved its global ranking by four places.According to the Global Financial Centre Index released on Wednesday, Dubai was ranked 15th worldwide, higher than Paris, Geneva, Los Angeles, Luxembourg and Vienna, among others.The improvement in Dubai's rating was backed by its strong infrastructure where it was ranked eighth worldwide, ahead of San Francisco, Toronto, Frankfurt, Zurich and Paris. FANR certifies first group of Emirati Nuclear Reactor Operators

The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), the UAE's nuclear regulator, announced on Monday that it has certified the first group of 15 UAE National senior reactor operators and reactor operators at Nawah Energy Company, the operations and maintenance subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec). 63 govt departments e-linked for faster services

Sixty three government entities have completed their e-linking process with the UAE Electronic Federal Network, FEDnet, developed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority,TRA, three years ago to provide high speed connectivity and integration between the various e-government systems of UAE government departments. The network will connect all federal institutions in a way that raises efficiency and reduces costs. It will also help achieve a faster transition to smart government. Pakistan issues fake Dubai jobs warning

Pakistan government issued a warning for citizens seeking jobs in the Middle East on Monday. The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (MOPHRD) posted pictures of fake UAE-based job advertisements on its social media pages, warning job seekers to not make payments to companies mentioned in the ads in order to process their applications.
