The principal of a boarding school and four members of staff are among nine people arrested over the rape of a 15-year-old student in northern India.Four male students have been held for the rape, which left the girl pregnant, while the school staff are accused of covering up the assault.Staff at the Dehradun school forced the girl to have an abortion after they found out she was pregnant, police say. A strong earthquake hit Sichuan province in southern China late Monday night and some people were injured, officials and news reports said. The U.S. Geological Survey warned there could be significant damage. It said the earthquake measured magnitude 5.9 and hit about 19 kilometers (12 miles) from the city of Changning. Turkey: 12 dead, 31 rescued after migrant boat sinks

A boat carrying migrants to Greece sank off the Turkish coast on Monday, leaving at least 12 migrants dead, Turkey's coast guard said. The coast guard said 31 other migrants were rescued after the boat capsized in the Aegean Sea, off the coast of Bodrum. The region is close to the Greek island of Kos. Officials say a car bombing has targeted an armored vehicle belonging to the Indian army in disputed Kashmir, wounding at least six soldiers and two civilians. Case delayed for mom who accused Egyptian man of kidnapping

A court appearance has been delayed for a West Virginia woman charged with falsely reporting that an Egyptian man tried to kidnap her daughter from a shopping mall.
