Labour disputes decrease by 42% in Abu Dhabi this year

Labour disputes in Abu Dhabi have decreased by 42 per cent this year compared to the previous year, according to authorities. The latest figures released on Tuesday by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) have shown that the number of complaints and labour cases handled by the Abu Dhabi public prosecution have dropped to 9,979 cases in 2018 from 16,897 cases in 2017. The significant decrease is attributed to the increased awareness among workers about their rights, duties and obligations guaranteed by the UAE laws. 6 Pakistanis, including 4 of a family, killed in UAE villa fire

Six Pakistani men, including four of a family, were killed after a fire broke out in a villa in Al Ain's Zakher area, the police said on Sunday. The tragedy was reported at 5.53am on Friday. 203 Dubai accidents in 13 hours during thunderstorm

Rain and unstable weather played havoc on Dubai roads as 203 traffic accidents were recorded from 6pm on Saturday to 7am on Sunday. The Dubai Police operations room received 5,781 phone calls during the same period. Man hits roommate to death with frying pan in Dubai

A mentally-ill Asian man, who killed his 63-year-old colleague by hitting him with a frying pan, was sentenced to death by the Sharjah Criminal Court. The court found that the accused assaulted the elderly man in a shared apartment with a frying pan on his head causing him brain haemorrhage that led to the victim's death. 12.6% of Dubai schoolkids overweight, says DHA

Dubai's health policy for schools is pushing students to adopt a healthier lifestyle, after a comprehensive screening conducted on private schools found that 12.6 per cent of pupils were overweight. Schoolkids are urged to eat more portions of fruits and vegetables and exercise more.
