Why some Dubai Municipality service counters are closed today

With the Dubai Municipality increasingly adopting digital solutions, it has closed 25 service counters at its centres in Al Twar, Al Manara and Al Kifaf. It has also stopped offering 23 services across its centres, with customers having to apply for them only online. The number of visitors to the civic body's service centres has dropped by 80 per cent as it reached its target of adopting paperless transactions. Dh1,000 traffic violation caught on camera in UAE

As spring break comes to an end for schools in the UAE, the police have posted an advisory video for motorists warning them against violating a particular traffic law. Maid injured in UAE gas cylinder explosion

A maid was injured as a gas cylinder leak triggered an explosion in Ajman. As the maid switched on a light, the explosion tore through the kitchen in Al Raqeeb area. On being notified about the incident, a civil defence team rushed to the area and found that the explosion did not result in a fire. RTA to add AC bus shelters at Academic City

Hazza Al Mansoori chosen as first Emirati astronaut

Hazza Al Mansoori will become the first Emirati astronaut to fly to space this September for an eight-day trip to the International Space Station. The former military pilot, with more than 14 years of experience, was chosen from over 4,000 applicants who applied to the UAE Astronaut Programme by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.
