A strong earthquake struck Monday in Indonesia's Banda Sea, but authorities said there is no tsunami threat. The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 7.3 quake was centered 208 kilometers (129 miles) below the earth's surface. Closing arguments are set for the federal death penalty trial of a former University of Illinois doctoral student charged with kidnapping and killing a 26-year-old visiting scholar from China. Train crash kills 4, injures at least 65 in Bangladesh

An official says at least four people were killed and another 65 were injured when five coaches of a passenger train veered off a railway bridge in northeastern Bangladesh. He said the rail bridge broke down when the train was crossing it. The cause of the breakdown wasn't known.Ahmed said at least 15 passengers were in critical condition. 7.5-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Indonesia

An earthquake of magnitude 7.5 struck in a remote area of Indonesia in the Banda Sea on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said, but there were no initial tsunami warnings.The quake hit at a depth of 220 km, the USGS said.
