Why the Google Pixel 4 might be the fastest flagship of 2019 - Dotemirates

Why the Google Pixel 4 might be the fastest flagship of 2019

Though phones are getting faster each year, Apple has always been ahead in the race of fastest flagships, and the latest A-series chip usually beats the latest processors from Qualcomm, Samsung and other manufacturers. However, we are now likely going to see Qualcomm reveal a new chipset in the second half of 2019. The new variant, named the Snapdragon 855 plus, brings 5G into play and improves on power-hungry aspects like gaming, AI, and AR. The Pixel 4, the design of which was recently leaked online may be one of the early phones to feature the new chipset. We have...

Amazon Echo Show 5 review

The Echo Show 5 is the latest in the family of Alexa-based Echo devices from Amazon. The Echo Show 5 is the smaller version of the massive Echo Show and has a smaller 5-inch display compared to the 10.1-inch display on the larger Echo Show. At first glance, the Echo Show 5 almost looks like a phone placed on a kickstand. The design is similar to that of the larger Echo Show, with an angled display and a body that tapers backward with the speakers placed behind the display. The display does have a sizable frame surrounding it, which on...

These surprising upgrades have the potential to turn the tide around for the iPhone 11...

Why the Google Pixel 4 will have the edge over the Samsung Galaxy Note 10

Korean brand Samsung has probably known for a while, that major competitors like Apple and Google offer the absolute latest and best in the world of bleeding edge tech. Usually not the first brand to bring in new tech in the industry, Samsung has often been the brand who betters on existing tech. Take the latest Galaxy Note 10 for instance. Samsung’s latest offering to the smartphone world can do pretty much everything that a smartphone can do, or rather, can do yet. Their flagship will compete to be the best smartphone of the year with Google’s upcoming own Pixel...

Lenticular Clouds over Mount Etna

Explanation: What's happening above that volcano? Although Mount Etna is seen erupting, the clouds are not related to the eruption. They are lenticular clouds formed when moist air is forced upwards near a mountain or volcano. The surreal scene was captured by chance late last month when the astrophotographer went to Mount Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sicily, Italy, to photograph the conjunction between the Moon and the star Aldebaran. The Moon appears in a bright crescent phase, illuminating an edge of the lower lenticular cloud. Red hot lava flows on the right. Besides some breathtaking stills, a...

Chemists working to develop useful compounds from non-edible plant waste

Washington: A team of green chemists are working on techniques to produce useful compounds from wood and other fast-growing non-edible plant waste, through a chemical process named xylochemistry. By using cashew nut shells, the team has produced new aromatic compounds that show good UVA and UVB absorbance, which may be applied to protect humans, livestock, as well as polymers or coatings from harmful rays from the sun. The research has been published as the cover article of the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. UV rays are damaging to most materials, with its effects leading to the discolouration of dyes and...
