New York City's secret subway line with antique cars is going back into service — here's what it's like to ride it

The New York City subway system is one of the most fascinating curiosities in a city full of mysteries. Miles of underground track shrouded in darkness, littered with abandoned stations and secret passageways — it's a common object of desire for the urban explorers among us. And, occasionally, New York City acknowledges the delightful mystery surrounding its 24-hour transportation system. The annual "Holiday Nostalgia" train line, seen above, is a perfect example of this. The train line, consisting of eight vintage New York subway cars from several different eras, runs for a few weekends each year — from the Sunday...

Fox News host Chris Wallace says Trump is seen as a 'beacon for repression' as they get into a heated back-and-forth over fake news

Fox News host Chris Wallace interviewed President Donald Trump on November 16, 2018. "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace told President Donald Trump his claims about American news media made him a worldwide "beacon of repression." In an interview aired Sunday, Trump railed against outlets he called "fake news," which was a term Wallace said was part of the rhetoric that is similar to authoritarian rulers. Wallace also objected to Trump's attempt to classify outlets, saying Fox News stood with the president's usual targets CNN and The New York Times "in solidarity." "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace pushed back...

I partied at the Brooklyn club named the 2nd best thing to do in the world. It was a wild night of dance parties, gravity-defying performances, and crazy costumes.

Time Out recently released its list of the 50 best things to do in the world right now. Brooklyn's House of Yes nightclub came in at second. The nightclub is known for wild parties with strange themes, circus performers, burlesque dancers, and more. I partied there last fall and found it to be a sensory overload of colorful costumes, pulsating beats, and dancers flying through the air. Needless to say, I was anything but bored. Earlier this week, Time Out released its list of the 50 best things to do in the world right now. Coming in at second on...

'Fantastic Beasts 2' earns a weekend-winning $62 million, but it's the lowest domestic opening ever for a 'Harry Potter' film

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald." "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," won the weekend box office with $62.2 million, but that's lower than the opening for 2016's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." It's also the lowest opening weekend ever for a "Harry Potter" film. If the first "Fantastic Beasts" is any indication, the sequel will find most of its box office coin at the foreign box office. Meanwhile, other new releases "Instant Family" and "Widows" fell flat.   With the incredible success of the "Harry Potter" movie franchise in the early 2000s, Warner Bros. was certainly going to...

I hired a TaskRabbit to help me assemble my IKEA furniture — and it solved the most annoying problem with shopping from the furniture giant

IKEA acquired TaskRabbit in 2017, and it solves one of the most annoying problems of shopping there. IKEA is known for its inexpensive furniture, but assembling it can be a daunting task. In 2017, IKEA acquired TaskRabbit, which lets users hire temporary workers through the TaskRabbit app to do things like assemble IKEA furniture.  I recently used TaskRabbit to have my IKEA furniture built. If you hate the new Gmail version that Google is forcing on users, here's a trick to make your Gmail look old again

Change can be hard, especially when it comes to your inbox.  Over the last few months, Google has been rolling out its new Gmail design, and some users aren't so keen on its look and feel.  The biggest shock seems to be coming from Gmail's new default view, which is much more bubbly and shows icons on the inbox home screen if there are any attachments within an email -- like images, slides, documents or spreadsheets.  . I realise this is a first-world problem, but #newgmail makes me incandescent with rage. pic.twitter.com/yHc7XwYUFd — Miranda Jewess (@mirandajewess) October 15, 2018 Google...
