This many million tourists visited the UAE in 2019 so far

We know the UAE is a great place to be and the latest tourism figures confirm that millions of people agree. More than six million international travellers visited Abu Dhabi and Dubai during the first three months of the year. Abu Dhabi to licence non-Muslim places of worship

Licences are to be issued to 19 non-Muslim religious venues in the capital. It’s part of a move by the UAE to establish a legal framework for places of worship across the country. This is according to the newly formed Abu Dhabi Department of Community and Development, which is working to issue licences. Phone scammers arrested in Abu Dhabi

People accused of running phone scams have been arrested in the capital. Abu Dhabi Police detained 80 alleged scammers over a period of six months. They’re accused of offering fake prizes and demanding bank details from ‘winners.’ The supposed criminals used other techniques to defraud their victims, including pretending to be employees of national banks and asking for pin numbers and sending links to fraudulent sites through WhatsApp. Police have reminded the public not to share their bank details and report any suspicious texts or calls. New visa rules for dependents are announced

Now UAE residents can renew the residency visas of their 18-year-old children for up to two consecutive years for only AED 100. Free tourist visas for under-18s were also announced. The new guidelines for residents, issued by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), apply to graduates who have completed their secondary or university education and are aged 18 or over. Drivers who fail to give way to emergency vehicles face huge fines and having their cars seized. The Ministry of Interior has confirmed an increase in penalties for the offence to AED 3,000 and six traffic points. Offenders could also lose their car. This comes into effect from 1st July and is hoped to reduce the number of fatalities on the roads.
